to the powers that be(a letter written by a friend to his bosses)

......i knew corporate south africa was messed up but this is getting out of hand

i'm grateful about everything that this company and it's management has allowed me to gain even if it was not much

the preferential treatment by the comapny i work for and its management that they dish out has got to be of some worry to the powers that be.they continue to treat people as if they are not worthy and smart enough to get a chance or even be involved in a programme that will enhance their skill and will ensure that they grow as individuals.

i have practically begged to involved in more technical stuff but they continue to ignore and yet some other people are given all the support and encouragement to continue in their meteoric rise in the organisation.Their racist treatment continues unabated.their subtle and systematic racism is rife in corporate SA and what is unfortunate is that it is protected .The problem with racism in the workplace is that it is hard to prove. and worse in our case is the majority shareholders in the company i work for is black.

they somehow got themselves convinced that there are those who deserve to learn and grow with the company and those who don't ,how they came to this conclusion is still a mystery and for them to say that some of us don't show any enthusiasm is just plain BS.

i don't want preferential treatment I just want to be given the same opportunities offered to others also be offered to me,as I want to grow and acquire skills to advance. somehow this is not the view of the powers that be.

skills shortage will continue, they keep whining bout it but hwen given a chance they ignore it how can they even talk about it if they ignore it
in their organisation.i'm not an ideal employee but who is. If your boss tells you that he never actually wanted u to work for him, that you are there because the powers that be said u should be there then you know then and there that your stay in that organization will be a bumpy When u ask about learning a new thing and tell u u have to sit at someone's desk and that person continues to treat you like a nuisance more than a person that wants to learn something or when a proper program of learning is never put together or never even implemented then what are u or who are u to even question it? yes it was discussed but that was it all talk and no action ,although on the other hand some people are supported and given all the training that is necessary and even given the tasks.i'm not the smartest employee but I want to learn and I'm eager but all this don't qualify 1 as a good enough ,in fact the word that was used was "no enthusiastic enough" .a program is discussed during a smoke break between a select few does and never implemented does not help any1 or improve any1 skills.
that world does not and will never revolve around a few individuals and nothing lasts forever. All I ever wanted was to grow as an individual and surely that is not too much to ask

n.b
please give me a chance to grow as a individual and grant me the opprtunity to spread my wings, let me have a say in what happens in my life and my career."sitting in the back and being quite does not work for me".being part of a team that only allows a few to grow is not a great thing,it's demoralizing.this is a company that is growing financially and otherwise yet we don't see black people on the management level and the ones we see are the ones that are just here for the money and care less about whether the is real growth or not. only white people own shares in this company only white people earn a living in this company and black people add a lot of value and a lot of growth but but non of them earn a living or own shares.the marginalization is just 3 much and yet we you people at the top continue to go on as if this dived this gaps don't exist........i'm black not stupid. the reality of the situation is that only white people continue to grow and prosper and black executives and all the other BEE fatcats continue
to support this fact.
